Have you heard of WEVents? It stands for WomenOnlyMENnotinvited, a social events organized by working women volunteers.  Well I had my chance to attend their 3rd Anniversary recently held at Armada Hotel Petaling Jaya with the theme of the night being Superwoman!

Well it’s not my first time attending a costume party but I didn’t dress up as a Superwoman that night, instead I just wore a simple dress :D

A little about WEVEnts before I give you a peek into what went on that night.  Afterall it’s a WomenOnlyMENnotinvited party and I’m sure you’ll be curious to find out what we WOMEN did that fun nite! :D

WEVents

WEVents was conceptualized by Jeanisha as a social event for women by women entrepreneurs (WEs) during a casual email exchanged with a fellow woman entrepreneur.  Both realized they have spent almost half of their lifetime either working for or servicing companies on events but there were few social events for women, by women.

WEVents was born with the objective of allowing women to have an outlet (vent) after office hours, get to meet new friends and catch up with peers. All the people working behind WEVents are WEs who freely volunteer their time or provide sponsorship in terms of products or services towards the events. Just so women can relax, enjoy themselves in an event they can truly call their own.

Philosophy in running WEVents:
“If you do good to someone, do not expect payback. If someone does good to you, pay it forward.”

So back to what went on that night.  Upon arrival I saw at a corner a table set-up for a Free Pampering Session by Posh! Nail Spa.  Remember my post about the awesome SPA Party I attended? Well I meet Posh! Nail Spa here again.

At the registration table, I spotted these cute polka dot bags.  These are our goodie bag!  Awesome, I just love the bag itself before even digging in to see the goodies it contains :P

As in all events, we must have the founder to say a few words to begin the night.  Here’s Jeanisha Wan, Founder of WEVents, a woman entrepreneur.

I also met and took the chance to had a picha with Winnie Loo, A Cut Above Saloon.  I’m sure she’s no stranger to all of you.  Winnie is also a patron to WEVEnts.

We then enjoyed a Belly Dance Performance Opening by Nikki Law from TRIBE

Guess who’s this?

The Founder of Bag Of Love, Mimi Teh (came as the classy Audrey Hepburn) is also present to share with us her success story of running Bag Of Love.  It’s the craze must-have of any gals nowadays in the beauty box world.  Instead of the usual box, Bag Of Love comes in a bag.  Each month a different bag!  Now how’s that for creativity?

Throughout the nite we ladies *woman* also nibbled on the food that was prepared for us.  I on the other hand was too busy enjoying the talent of the 10 pre-selected superwoman contestants that wowed us all with their amazing showcase of superwoman feat!

SHOWTIME!!

a picha that I love very much! <3

Needless to say, all 10 contestants was awesome! Just being brave enough to dress up as a Superwoman had me saluting them.  It’s ain’t easy to be dressing up and or performing on stage.  With the minion craze just over us, I met a real life Minion!!  She is so so so cute!!  Behind this minion is actually our Belly Dancer gal, Nikki Law :D

After the spectacular show time, we casted our votes.  While the votes are being counted, we had prizes for The Most Supportive Blogger, The Most Participative Volunterr, The Most Regular Attendee and Best Dress Award!  It’s ain’t nothing for a costume party :P

As for me I had my name drawn for Lucky Draw! Lucky me :D

Now guess who came up the Top 3?

.

.

.

No.3 – Yong Choy Peng as Super Girl who captured our heart with her sweet medley of Japanese and Korean song.

No. 2 – Susee Rajam as Mother Theresa where she touched our hearts with a heartwarming speech

And the ONE that came out FIRST is Cat Woman with her song Girl on Fire!  A strong voice and strength of a cat bags the night!

No 1 – Edazz Lucinda as Cat Woman with her cat dance and strong vocals of Girl on Fire!

Edazz took home that night a hamper worth RM3,247 including a Fujitsu laptop!

Group picha of the Superwoman that night

I must also thank Yoda here for the invite.  Yoda aka Tammy Lim of Plus Size Kitten who also runs The Butterfly Beauty Project with the swat team bags the The Most Supportive Blogger award!! Kudos :D

And if you didn’t already know (must “shiok sendiri” a bit here), I was on print – appeared at New Straits Times Street Your Event on Tuesday, August 20th.

Well you may appear everyday on print but not for me. So this is definitely for keeps! :D
