Majority dislike Monday coz it’s the start of a brand new week and Mondays are labelled blueeee…… Now what about Thursday?  Terrific Thursday you say?  Yeah for Thursday is the day before Friday, the 2nd last day of the working week before weekend arrives :D

I was back at Eastin Hotel Petaling Jaya to savour Thursday Night Specials.  This is a promotion which runs from July to September.  You still have your chance to savour this awesome Thursday Night Specials dishes prepared by Master Chef Yong.

Before showing you what I had that Terrific Thursday, let me give you a sneak peek of how we ended our awesome Thursday.  Yes!! it’s the time of the year again for some Mooncake Delights and this year also marks the 15th Anniversary of Eastin Hotel Petaling Jaya and for there’s a special mooncake for this very special occassion! :D

Mooncake Delights ~ comes in baked or snow skin

Now let’s start the night with Deluxe Twin Hot Combination.

Beautifully presented on a piece of lemongrass skewer is the absolutely mouth melting Kurobuta meat. Noticed that dallop of green on top of the meat.  That’s the house specialty chili dip.  Served together with yam pastry prawn, both the prized Kurobuta meat which is slightly caramelised goes well with the prawn.

Next up is the Double-boiled Fish Soup with Apple.  One thing I must comment is that Ee Cuisine never fails me with their double-boiled soup!  One can savour from one’s bowl of soup that it has indeed gone thru the process of double-boiled for you can taste the natural sweetness of the ingredients put in.

The natural sweetness of the apple combined with the chinese almond lend the soup a natural sweet savoury flavour.

Braised Eight Treasure Duck came up next and I just could not helped but to think of the tedious manner this dish was prepared.

The meat was braised to perfection combined with the eight treasures contained inside, imagine the work it takes to ensure that the entire duck remained it shape! Love how the flavours are absorbed inside out.  Each bite of the Braised Eight Treasure Duck is a delight.

I love the next dish ~ Deep-fried Stuffed Boneless Chicken.  Found this interesting for it does not contain any chicken meat.  The only chicken part that can be found here is the chicken skin! It’s layered with almonds, fish paste, salted egg yolk topped off with chicken skin.  Yummeh is the word! :P

We also had Stewed “Tian Jin” Cabbage with Dried Scallops.  Needless to say as you can see above, the cabbage itself absorbed the flavours of the dried scallops beautifully.

When the Mini Lotus Leaf Rice was placed on the table, the first thing that caught my eye is the Lotus itself!

Here’s a close up view.  It’s carved out of yam, thinly sliced.  I’m amazed at this craft work.

After admiring the centerpiece, it’s time to admire and enjoy the lotus leaf rice.  Luckily for me, my tummy still has space to enjoy this.  Lotus leaf when steamed releases a unique leafy nuance and fragrance.

The lovely Thursday Night Specials ends with a Double-boiled Pear with American Figs.  A truly delightful end to a fabulous dinner.  Besides enjoying this fine Chinese cuisine, you’ll be serenaded by the J Musical Live Band who will be performing evergreen Chinese and English hits from the 70′s and 80′s.

And now for the extra dessert.  We had the opportunity to savour Eastin Hotel Mooncakes! Yeah, Mid Autumn Festival is arriving soon.

An array of delectable mooncake delight

A familiar favourite, one can’t miss the White Lotus Paste with Single Yolk.  I like that it’s not too sweet and the salted egg yolk! Give me a mooncake with salted egg yolk anytime, just love the combination of sweet and saltish hints.

A personal favourite of the Executive Chef, this Jasmine Cheesy Citrus eludes a strong Jasmine flavour with hints of cheesy citrus.  A good flavour to tease your palate.

I love this Supreme Mixed Nuts.  It’s full of texture with every bite :P

Pandan lovers will fall in love with the colour and flavour of the Pandan Paste with Single Yolk.

There’s some new flavours this year which is the “Kei Chi Tong Gui”, Crystal Dragon Fruit and Crystal White Coffee mooncakes.

And as I mentioned earlier to mark the 15th year anniversary celebration of Eastin Hotel Petaling Jaya, a special edition mooncake is created to commemorate this special occasion ~ Mini Crystal Durian Paste Mooncake.

Durian lovers you need to try this.  The mooncake is full of durian paste and I can just have one whole mooncake for myself!  No sharing allowed!! :p
