Thai Camp PJ

You may already know from my various post on Thai cuisine that I’m one for Thai food anytime!  This time, my friends brought me to a place that I seldom venture too – Thai Camp PJ in Taman Paramount :D

Don’t let the name deceive you that it’s a camp detention or what not for it is NOT the case at all!! The boss is really friendly and I must say that the food is authentic for his partner is a Thai national and each dish is cooked passionately to retain the authentic Thai flavour.

Iced Lemon Grass & Iced Pandan

Drinks are refreshing and especially love the Iced Lemon Grass drink. A real thirst quencher and best of all, you get the taste of Lemon Grass. Not the usual really diluted type.

Now let’s get on to the real deal. We started off with some appetizers and then move on to the mains.

Thai Fish Cake

Thai Fish Cake a common dish to have while having Thai. I find this a bit common but the next one had me excited!

Grill Pork Sausages

Grill Pork Sausages is something new to me and I find this great as a snack by itself. It’s bursting with flavours!

Grill Pork Belly

More meat, this is their Grill Pork Belly. If you like more texture, go for this. I assure you won’t regret it.

Seafood Salad

Thai without their salad does not complete the meal.  We had their Seafood Salad and it was just yums! Love the freshness of the seafood and the soury spicy taste of it. Really works up my appetite.

Omelette with minced chicken or pork

If you have kids with you and can’t take anything spicy, there’s non-spicy as well.  Like my kiddos who can survive on eggs alone, the Omelette with minced chicken or pork suits them fine.

White Tom Yum Chicken

Having said that Thai fare would not be complete without their salad, how can we miss out on Tom Yam right?  My first time having White Tom Yum Chicken.  It’s creamy and good but my preference would still be the Seafood Tom Yum Kung.

Seafood Tom Yum

Seafood Tom Yum came right with the flavours. Tantalises one’s tastebud with the freshness of the seafood. Just look how big the prawns is. I can have just this alone with my white rice.

Northern Thai Curry

If I’m not mistaken, the above is Northern Thai Curry.  I’m really amazed for the varieties Thai Camp PJ has for I always tend to order the same old stuff when I dine Thai hehehe… This Northern Thai Curry really “opens” up my eyes to the varieties there is in terms of Thai food.

The taste came across similar to our Chinese Pork Leg Vinegar. How could that be right but seriously I really think that the taste is pretty similar.  Why not you give it a try and then share with me your thoughts. This is one of the recommended dish if you ask me. Really good!!

Thai Steam Fish

Fish lovers would not be left out.  We savoured the steam and fried style. Both equally good but one thing though, it would be good if the steam fish is presented with a heater at the bottom to keep it hot.

That aside, I just love the flavours.  Again I’m mentioning this for each dish that was on the table is full of flavours. This just proves that Thai Camp PJ did not skimp on the ingredients! Kudos!! :D

ThaiCamp Fish

You can see that the fish is almost covered by peanuts, mangoes, onions etc etc.. Each bite is beautiful.

Now on to two more dishes that we had. Both are really unique to me.

Stir Fried Chicken or Pork with Spicy Holy Basil Sauce

If you love basil leafs, then you would love this plus the spicy sauce that comes with it.

Crispy Preserved Egg with Phad Kra Prao

Really unique dish that serves with crispy preserved egg.  I love the eggs!

While we finished off our dinner, the owner informed us that they are open for supper as well. How cool is that! :D The supper hours are from 10pm to 1am.  What’s available for supper?

Toast with Butter Milk

Does this brings back childhood memories to you?  It does to me <3

Toast with Tom Yum Mix with Chicken Floss

Toasties! Yes Thai Camp PJ serves Toast that comes with a few option for spread. We took the chance to try out 2 types for it’s already 10.30pm and we are still there :P  I would go for the Tom Yum Mix with Chicken Floss. Really good!

Besides Toast, Thai Camp PJ also serves the Grill Pork Sausages and Fried Tom Yum Chicken Wings.

Now here’s a good place to chill for supper instead of the usual mamak stalls.
