Craving for some Thai fare? Head on over to ThaiExpress at The Curve Shopping Mall where ThaiExpress makes a comeback with a fresh new look bringing their latest revamp menu to its outlet! Best part was I got to savour some of it’s dishes and gives it a thumbs-up!! Now I know where to go to satisfy my Thai cravings!
Located on the Ground Floor, it’s easy to spot ThaiExpress. ThaiExpress boasts a menu of over 130 items for their diners to choose from!
Start your meal by preparing your palette with a platter of Yum Mamuang. The sour spicy taste of it will sure perk your taste buds for the coming dishes.
I was introduced to this Roti Krob and found it interesting. Filled with minced chicken salad, it’s a good appetizer.
First look it’s like our roti canai dish but in fact it’s actually Thai-styled pancake and Massaman Chicken Curry. Personally I found that the cinnamon I believe is a bit too strong for me. Overall, it’s a nice dish.
I find the next dish very Thai – Khoa Tang Naa Tang. Scoop up some of the Creamy Chicken and Shrimp Sauce on top of the rice cracker to eat. It gave me comfort food feel, very homely.
As with Thai food, one item that is a must order for me is Tom Yum Soup.
Usually I’ll have Tom Yum Kung but this time I tried their Tom Yum Kang Nam Daeng. Love the flavoured fragrance of herbs and spices that just explode your palette.
Ooh well I did have Tom Yum Kung as well. Don’t be deceived by it’s mild-looking appearance for this clear yet powerful soup base will set you on fire. If you prefer your soup base to have more “color”, go for Tom Yum Talay where the sweetness of seafood adds more flavour to the soup.
Now for some main meals. Poo-Phat Pong Kari is something unique. It’s actually soft shell crab with egg and onion curry. Love the combination <3
I spotted a platter of what look like a plate of “cantonese fried noodles”. Took a spoonful in and oohmy! it’s actually spicy! But I like it non-the-less, the spiciness gives this dish a very good “kick”.
Thai’s famous Phat Thai came next and I couldn’t stop myself having more helpings. It’s one of the best Phat Thai I’ve eaten *seriously*. Order this and try for yourself when you’re at ThaiExpress. I bet you won’t regret.
Beef lover, try the Yum Neua Yang. The meat is tender and well marinated. Love this as well.
If you’re up to give yourself a challenge, order the Gai Phat Pet Ched Nam Ta. This rank the highest in the scale for being spicy. First bite you won’t feel a thing but let the taste and aroma settled down and then you start to feel the heat building up! I kid you not, it’s spicy but addictive!!
Wrap up the wonderful meal some authentic Thai dessert. I usually go for the mangoes more than the glutinous rice hehehe…. Thai glutinous rice texture is unlike our local glutinous rice. ThaiExpress’s Khao Niao Mamuang served authentic Thai glutinous rice and it’s real good having it with fresh sweet mangoes.
Chendol fan? You can try Thai Chendol. I prefer the next one tho, the Lod Chong.
Not only the colour attracted me, it’s so good that having one cup of this by myself is enough to satisfy whatever cravings I had for dessert. It’s quite filling to finish one cup of myself. Love the “rubies” inside.
Also to mentioned is that you should try ThaiExpress’s drinks. A lotus root like drink which is actually a Traditional Thai Herbal Drink is Naam Ma Toom. I didn’t try this thus couldn’t explain the taste.
Pina Colada lover, check out Thai Pina Colada where you have a scoop of coconut ice-cream to top your Pina Colada. Real refreshing I heard.
For me I had the Chiang Mai Mango Blend. Yummeh is all I can say. I don’t mind another cup of this. Pure goodness and it helps to cool down my fiery mouth after all that hot and spicy stuff! Health conscious, go for the Avocado Milkshake.
All in, I love every dish here and will definitely pay ThaiExpress a visit again soon, real soon!
